Sr. Data Scientist – Identity Graph – Email Marketing Startup
Location: Remote
The company's enterprise SaaS product for marketers involves identity resolution, consumer data enrichment, email deliverability, retargeting and advertising, compliance with digital privacy regulations, AI-powered identity graph, and big data.
The company has raised $8 million in seed funding, and is expecting to close series A funding soon. Revenues are rapidly growing (tripled in the last year). It is used by over 200 brands.
The company has 20 employees and 5 engineers. It is rapidly hiring.
The company will pay a salary up to $200k, plus equity which could be lucrative.
Job Responsibilities:
- Playing a key role in refining the identity graph, optimizing data enrichment, and driving real-time decision-making.
- Developing and refining graph-based AI models to improve identity resolution, utilizing Neo4j and Cypher queries.
- Designing and implementing community detection algorithms to cluster identities.
- Optimizing data enrichment pipelines using Kafka, REST APIs, and ETL workflows to integrate first-party, third-party, and real-time data streams.
- Architecting and optimizing real-time data pipelines using Kafka and Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, GCS, Pub/Sub).
- Developing bot detection and fraud prevention models using IP tracking, fingerprinting, and behavioral data analysis.
- Enhancing the product's cookieless tracking framework to ensure accurate audience insights and engagement measurement.
- Building predictive models to improve email deliverability, leveraging clickstream data, consumer attribute analysis, and subdomain warm-up strategies.
- Collaborating with engineers to implement Google Tag Manager and JavaScript-based tracking solutions for client-side data collection.
- Optimizing dynamic audience creation for retargeting and personalized landing pages based on user traits and intent signals.
Qualifications:
- Strong statistical expertise, experience in applying AI/ML to graph databases, and a deep understanding of the email and adtech business landscape.
- At least 4 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist.
- Deep experience designing and implementing community detection algorithms.
- Expertise with Neo4j, Cypher queries, and applying AI/ML models to graph data.
- Proficiency in Big Data & Streaming technologies including Kafka, BigQuery/GCP, ETL pipelines, and real-time data ingestion.
- AI & Machine Learning: Familiarity with community detection, clustering, and consumer segmentation techniques.
- Proficient with Python, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch, SQL, and JavaScript.
- AdTech & Email Analytics: Understanding of ad network integrations, email reputation management, and consumer segmentation strategies.
- Deep understanding of digital marketing, email deliverability, and adtech business principles.
- Ability to translate data insights into actionable marketing strategies and improve engagement.
- Experience working with data brokers, third-party APIs (such as Experian, TransUnion, Verizon), and CRM systems.
Nice to have:
- Experience in identity resolution, fraud detection, or behavioral segmentation.
- Familiarity with marketing analytics platforms such as Klaviyo, Meta Ads, and Google Ads.
- Understanding of Background in consumer behavior modeling and audience personalization.
- Experience with Google Tag Manager.
