Lead / Staff Software Engineer - Ruby on Rails - Healthcare Marketplace

Location: Remote

The company's product is a marketplace for healthcare. It is primarily for consumers and is also for businesses. It is for mobile as well as web.

The company has raised $28 million in series B funding. It has about 280 employees and 25 engineers.

In this position, you would be focused on backend engineering with Ruby on Rails. You would be leading 4-5 engineers, spending about 80% of your time coding and 20% on leadership such as mentoring people and driving projects.

The company will pay salary up to $250k plus equity which could be valuable.

Qualifications:

- At least 7 years (the more the better) of backend engineering experience.

- Expertise in programming with Ruby on Rails.

- Proven experience delivering high quality production code on schedule.

- Ability to own a project from concept to completion.

- Solid communication skills.

- Strong CS fundamentals.

Nice to have:

- Experience building a marketplace platform (such as Uber, Airbnb, Upwork, etc.)

- Experience with machine learning.

- Experience with data-focused applications.

- JavaScript, Elixir, and React
