Overview

This role is for a Visual Data Model Designer who will be part of a high-impact team that collaborates with Product Managers, Engineers, Writers, and UX Designers to produce customer-facing in-product visuals such as setup guides, animated GIFs, and diagrams. The designer will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-precision data model diagrams that simplify complex relationships in enterprise-scale systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and update large-scale, high-accuracy data model diagrams, primarily using Lucidchart.
• Apply principles of structured graphic design to maintain clarity, hierarchy, and alignment.
• Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy of diagrams.
• Optimize layouts to reduce visual clutter and improve object grouping and diagram flow.
• Maintain visual consistency across a library of diagrams while enhancing readability.
• Balance feedback and technical constraints to iterate on diagram quality.
• Ensure all diagrams support user understanding of relationships between enterprise objects.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in structured graphic or visual diagram design.
• Strong proficiency in Lucidchart, OmniGraffle, or equivalent diagramming/vector tools.
• Bonus: Experience with Adobe Illustrator for custom icon drawing.
• Deep understanding of flow, hierarchy, and design logic in structured visual systems.
• High attention to detail and patience in producing clean, accurate visuals.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a feedback-driven process.
• Excellent communication skills for working with technical teams and stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Information Design, or related field preferred.
