Senior Java Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Deliver clean, maintainable code with strong ownership, refactoring, and code reviews.
• Build and maintain REST APIs (and integrations with internal/external systems).
• Work with transactions, concurrency, caching, and performance optimization.
• Improve engineering quality through unit and integration testing (TDD is a strong plus).
• Participate in architectural decisions around AWS infrastructure, serving as a rotation partner for the solutions architect.
• Contribute to technical decisions and drive best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial experience with Java (8/11/17+).
• Strong experience with Spring / Spring Boot (DI, bean lifecycle, configuration, scopes).
• Solid knowledge of Java Collections.
• Good understanding of JVM fundamentals.
• Strong grasp of OOP, SOLID principles, Dependency Inversion, and common design patterns.
• Hands-on testing experience: JUnit, Mockito (or equivalent), writing testable code.
• Experience working with relational databases: SQL, transactions, and JPA/Hibernate.
• Comfortable with Git and modern development workflows (code review, CI/CD usage).
• Hands-on AWS Cloud experience (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, SQS/SNS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch) with the ability to make architectural and infrastructure decisions.
• Microservices architecture and messaging systems.

Nice to have

• Caching: Redis and caching strategies (TTL/invalidation).
• Observability: structured logging, metrics, tracing.
• Deep understanding of Spring AOP/Aspects and Spring proxy behavior.
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Associate/Professional).
• Experience working with Angular and TypeScript.
