About the Role
The Senior Director of Product Marketing will be an externally focused leader responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and managing the overall product marketing strategy. She or he will work cross-functionally to understand Simetrik’s product solutions, customer base, and competitive differentiation. With a laser focus on building our entry into the US market, she or he will implement a differentiated product go-to-market strategy for sales and marketing execution. The role will be essential in building a product marketing department focused on scaling product marketing and partnering with revenue enablement to accelerate go-to-market clarity to drive differentiation and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this executive will be a strategic member of the leadership team with a strong background in financial management and a combination of exceptional technology and communication skills to ensure the successful promotion and adoption of Simetrik’s solutions. You will work closely with the broader marketing organization and the founding team.
- Develop Simetrik’s core use case messaging and positioning.
- Triangulate the competitive landscape with Simetrik’s differentiation and design/implement a differentiated product marketing strategy that will resonate with market analysts/reports such as the Gartner Magic Quadrant list.
- Drive product marketing direction for Simetrik with cross-functional collaboration.
- Producing marketing content such as sales presentations, datasheets, blog posts, whitepapers, videos, and social media content to generate interest and educate the market about the product.
- Orient an optimized pricing strategy for the evolving product suite by working closely with the strategy team and CEO. Make considerable progress and recommend pricing models to maximize revenue and profitability. Conduct thorough competitive analysis on competitor pricing strategies and tactics while positioning Simetrik appropriately.
- Work with sales and product management functions to develop and curate sales enablement assets, including presentations, videos, demos, solution maps, white papers, datasheets.
- Understand market trends, the competitive landscape, customer requirements, usage and buying behavior.
- Educate sales, product management, marketing teams, and the partner channel on the competitive landscape and competitor offerings.
- Provide input and strategy into product roadmap, plan, and pricing based on market and customer research findings, industry analyst interactions and competitive findings.
- Provide input about product priorities and goals to Product Management.
- Use customer, partner, and competitive research to influence product strategy and drive effective messaging.
- Grow a customer reference program to engage our customers and to display customer success and value realization achieved using Simetrik.
- Support the team in setting clear goals and key results. Ensure that those align and support the company’s strategic direction.
Experience and Professional Qualifications
- 10 + years of experience in marketing/product marketing and related marketing functions in the SaaS industry, with at least 5 years in Financial Management categories
- Experience in product launches and a full understanding of the product lifecycle.
- Track record in building new categories and or pivoting categories.
- Deep understanding of the financial control and reconciliation market and competitive landscape.
- Experience building trusted relationships with executive sponsors and end users.
- Technical background or clear understanding of a product life cycle
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, marketing, business, or related area; MBA is a plus.
- Proven record in building, getting buy-in and executing marketing plans, and staying focused on “getting it done” in a fast-moving, technical environment.
- Able to coordinate across many teams and perform in a fast-moving environment.
- Proven experience being self-directed and working with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated experience building credibility with and delivering results for product teams, sales teams, and customers/partners.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to explain and translate complex technology concepts into simple and intuitive communications.
- Uses data to measure results and inform decision making and strategy development.
