FREELANCE GRAPHIC DESIGNER - PART TIME

We're a pop-culture licensed home décor and accessory company situated in Midtown Manhattan, and we're on the lookout for a versatile individual to join our Creative Department as a Part Time Freelance Designer.

Beyond just a love for design, we need someone who's creatively charged, with an uncanny knack for both nostalgic and contemporary pop culture trends across music, movies, TV series, and comics.

POSITION SUMMARY:

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Design, tackling multiple design projects within the deadlines provided.

Our ideal candidate should be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud software such as Illustrator and Photoshop to collaborate seamlessly with our current in-house design team. Must possess a complete design skill set within all software platforms.

You will be tasked with crafting realistic product mockup designs that seamlessly align with our product strategy and merchandising goals. You will output CAD files showcasing product turns as well as final full-color concepts that are dimensional and realistic. Position can entail creating captivating product display endcap visuals for presentations and fulfilling marketing collateral needs.

The role also involves coordinating the preparation of presentation materials for market sell-ins and account meetings.

Adaptability to fast-paced turnaround requirements is a must.

WHAT YOU WILL DO!

·      Create high-resolution concept design layouts (close to print-ready) for integration into Product Renderings, showcasing to various retailers.

·      Produce accurate layouts for a range of product shapes developed daily, adhering to style guides and branding for each License.

·      Collaborate with in-house designers and 3D designers to ensure optimal product design execution.

·      Utilize resource files such as licensed style guides, specifications, and templates in artwork layout creation.

·      Communicate effectively internally across all departments.

·      Assist in maintaining an ongoing archive of master template files, creative files, and asset files received from Licenses.

WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BRING!

·      Proficiency in Print Production Output, Color Flow & Terminology, and Digital Design Output.

·      Strong organizational skills (a must!)

·      Capable of following the provided directions and instructions and receiving constructive criticism with an open mind.

·      Thrives in a fast-paced team environment with excellent communication skills and a knack for creative input.

·      Proactively stays updated with current pop culture, relevant trends, and market products.

·      Demonstrates a creative problem-solving thought process to execute high-quality product designs that align with license style guides & branding.

·      Generates fresh, compelling concept designs that resonate with our licenses and engage customers with trendy product ideas.

·      Able to meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and handling multiple requests efficiently.

·      Proficient in Mac or PC platforms, skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud suite, Microsoft Office, Dropbox and project management software or PLM.

·      A minimum of 4 years' experience in a related field.

·      Exhibit initiative and a proactive approach to task completion.

·      A sense of humor and flexibility are essential.

·      3D Design experience is a plus, not required. (Software: Keyshot, Zbrush, and Maya)
