User Experience Designer

About the Role

We are a fast-growing SaaS platform designed for lawyers, students, and researchers to conduct document reviews, analyze complex materials, and take structured notes. We are seeking a proactive, problem-solving UI/UX Designer to take ownership of our core product experience, with a primary focus on refining our product onboarding and out-of-box experience (OOBE).

This role requires someone who moves quickly, takes initiative, and bridges the gap between user research, product design, and product positioning. We are looking for either an experienced Product Designer with a track record of driving onboarding improvements or a hyper-ambitious early-career designer with exceptional problem-solving skills and drive.

Key Responsibilities

• Onboarding & Out-of-Box Experience: Redesign and optimize the initial user onboarding flow to improve user activation, retention, and time-to-value.
• User Research & Testing: Plan, execute, and synthesize user research and studies to gather quick feedback and directly inform UI/UX decisions.
• End-to-End Interface Design: Work across the core SaaS application to design intuitive workflows, interactions, and user interfaces tailored for legal professionals and academic users.
• Product & Growth Integration: Collaborate closely with product and marketing, understanding how onboarding intersects with product positioning and user acquisition.
• Rapid Problem Solving: Move fast to identify UX friction points, build quick solutions, and iterate based on real user behaviors and feedback.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven UI/UX & Product Design Experience: Demonstrated experience in designing SaaS product interfaces and optimizing onboarding flows.
• Strong User Research Capabilities: Hands-on experience recruiting users, conducting qualitative/quantitative user research, and applying findings directly to design iterations.
• High Ownership & Agency: A hustle mindset, strong initiative, and the ability to find creative ways to solve complex UX problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Language Proficiency: Strong written and verbal English communication skills are essential for conducting user research and collaborating with team members.
• Portfolio of Work: A portfolio showcasing functional product designs, clear problem-solving processes, and/or innovative side projects.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Product Marketing / Positioning Experience: Understanding of product marketing principles as they apply to onboarding messaging and customer conversion.
• Graphic Design: Fundamentals in graphic design and visual brand asset creation.

Work Environment & Schedule

• Time Zone Overlap: Must be able to maintain at least a 50% working hour overlap with U.S. Eastern Time (ET) to ensure regular syncs and collaboration.
