Principal Kernel Engineer – Remote

The Role:

The team is seeking an experienced Principal Kernel Engineer to lead development efforts on a next-generation Windows endpoint agent. This role centers around advancing detection, prevention, and remediation capabilities within the product through deep operating system integrations and low-level development. You'll play a key role in shaping how the product counters ransomware and other advanced threats.

esponsibilities:

• Build production-grade features from prototypes and translate them into robust, scalable components
• Independently lead the development of core features, bug fixes, and performance improvements
• Collaborate cross-functionally to refine architecture and roadmap priorities
• Maintain a strong focus on quality, performance, and system stability

Qualifications:

• Expert-level experience writing multi-threaded code in C++ in both kernel- and user-mode on Windows
• Familiarity with Windows internals and Win32 APIs
• Proven track record of shipping at least one production-ready Windows NT driver
• Strong debugging skills, especially with memory corruption and low-level system issues
• Proficient in Rust or a strong willingness and aptitude to learn quickly
• Excellent verbal and written communication; collaborative and mentorship-oriented
• Comfortable operating independently in ambiguous technical environments

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with Portable Executable formats and reverse engineering
• Familiarity with Windows Mini-Filter or Windows Filter Platform callout drivers
• Experience working with SQL or telemetry platforms like Databricks
• Knowledge of Rust/C++ interoperability tools
