Senior Data Scientist (Generative AI Focus)

Permanent, Fully remote within Portugal

A permanent opportunity is open for a Senior Data Scientist to join a forward-thinking AI team, leading the development and deployment of machine learning models — with a growing emphasis on Generative AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business and product requirements into scalable machine learning solutions
• Identify high-impact opportunities for applying Generative AI, from ideation to production
• Perform in-depth data analysis (EDA), feature engineering, and model evaluation
• Design and implement machine learning models, including both traditional ML and deep learning approaches
• Run structured experiments to compare model architectures and optimize performance
• Deploy models into production environments and maintain continuous improvement loops

Required Qualifications

• Strong theoretical understanding and practical experience with machine learning algorithms
• Proven track record of deploying machine learning models into production
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI frameworks (e.g., LLMs, transformers, diffusion models)
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with object-oriented programming
• Solid MLOps experience, including model monitoring and CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GenAI application development (e.g., conversational agents, content generation, personalization)
• Exposure to Big Data tools such as Spark or PySpark
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally Azure and Databricks
• Industry experience in domains such as fraud detection, recommendation systems, CRM, or sports tech
