Purpose of the job

Side is looking for a talented PR and Marketing manager to support activities in Asia. If you are an account manager or account director agency side and looking for an opportunity to step up, this could be the right position for you.

Following a recent rebrand in March, it’s an exciting time for the company, especially for the PR and marketing teams! The rebrand means we are in a phase of experimentation and exploration, so you won’t be walking into a regular cycle of activities in this role.

As we continue to creatively direct what makes sense for the new brand, we are looking for someone who feels both comfortable and excited by the prospect of a blank canvas, not intimidated by it.

Position in the organization

Part of the PR and Marketing teams and reporting directly to Side’s Chief Communicatons Officer.

Duties And Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage campaigns in Asia, specifically focused on Korea, Malaysia, China, and Taiwan
  • Support the global team and providing regional counsel
  • Create and develop stories and marketing activities for Asia
  • Manage local budget and planning for local activities and events
  • Designated PR and Marketing point of contact for the region, both internal and external
  • Event Planning and Coordination, plan, organize, and execute key events in the regional for the global marketing & PR team.
  • Network and develop partnership opportunities with local media, our clients and other relevant organizations locally.
  • Ensure all external communication events, materials and messages (press releases, social media) are in line with our Company’s direction and local regulations.

Who You Are

  • You’re organised, self-motivated and visionary – you’re someone who already leads meetings comfortably and can see an activation through from ideation to execution
  • You’re a strong, internal, communicator, you can quickly understand the role for PR, Social Media and Marketing in any given activity
  • You’re a quality pitcher; we don’t use agencies so you should feel confident with the sell-in process and have the contacts to match
  • You love variety, from sound design and music through to AI and quality assurance, we have lots to work with! You should be excited by the prospect of having multiple projects on the go

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and either Korean, Chinese, or Japanese for business communication.
  • 4+ years' experience in PR and/or marketing
  • Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy
  • Experience navigating large organizations
  • Proven experience in event planning and coordination.
  • Ability to manage multiple vendors, including but not limited to PR agencies, branding agencies, event logistics companies, etc.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, succeed under pressure, and roll with the demands of the business (and how quickly things change)
  • Experience juggling multiple projects at one time, preferably in multiple time zones
  • Familiarity with the gaming industry and overall enthusiasm for gaming is a massive plus
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
