Associate Software Engineer

About Us

Sequencer is an early-stage creative technology startup reimagining how video, AI, and storytelling intersect. We’re building a platform where creators — from individuals to large media companies — can design and generate video narratives enhanced by generative AI and LLMs.

We’re seeking mid-level engineers to help accelerate product development. You’ll be working closely with the founding team to evolve the core application, integrate new AI/LLM features, and improve creator workflows. This role is ideal for someone who wants meaningful ownership over a technically and creatively ambitious product.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to core product development across front-end and back-end
• Help integrate LLM-driven features (e.g. prompt design, content generation, AI copilots)
• Extend and refine Sequencer’s real-time video tools (e.g. timeline, editing interface) Collaborate with founders on product architecture, experiments, and launches Optimize performance across mobile (React Native) and backend (Firebase/Python)
• Contribute to internal tools or pipelines for media processing and asset management

Tech Stack

• Frontend: React Native
• Backend: Firebase, Python (FastAPI or Flask)
• AI/LLM: OpenAI APIs, HuggingFace, LangChain (or similar) Media: ffmpeg, web-based or native video editing tools

Ideal Experience

• 3–6 years of hands-on engineering experience (ideally at startups or fast-moving teams)
• Strong grasp of React Native and Firebase, especially mobile UI/UX
• Experience with Python backends, REST APIs, and real-time apps
• Worked with or integrated LLMs and media AI tools (e.g. transcription, captioning, summarization)
• Bonus if you’ve contributed to video editors, generative video, or creative tooling products

What We're Looking For
