From creating world-class products to nurturing a collaborative, mission-driven culture, our values guide everything we do. We’re looking for curious, passionate people who thrive in dynamic teams and want to make a measurable impact. If you’re motivated by solving hard problems in bold, creative ways, we’d love to hear from you.
What We’re Looking For
We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our Observo AI team — SentinelOne’s advanced AI-based data optimization and observability platform. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and scale ultra-efficient systems that process massive streams of telemetry data, driving down cost and improving insights for global enterprise customers.
You’ll bring strong expertise in distributed systems, data engineering, and ML infrastructure, and a passion for building systems that solve complex, real-world data challenges at scale. This position sits within the Observo AI engineering organization and includes partial on-site presence at our Mountain View, CA headquarters.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop scalable, high-throughput data processing pipelines capable of handling petabyte-scale telemetry data (logs, metrics, traces)
- Build and refine ML-powered data routing, filtering, and transformation systems that significantly reduce data volume while maintaining analytical fidelity
- Develop real-time analytics and anomaly detection frameworks leveraging machine learning and large language models
- Architect cloud-native microservices and APIs that integrate seamlessly with observability platforms like Datadog, Splunk, Elastic, and New Relic
- Implement robust monitoring, observability, and alerting solutions across distributed systems
- Collaborate with Product and DevOps teams to translate customer needs into technical execution
- Continuously optimize system performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness through testing, profiling, and infrastructure tuning
- Mentor engineers, participate in design reviews, and strengthen engineering best practices across the team
- Stay current on emerging AI/ML, data, and observability technologies to inform innovation and strategy
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in distributed systems, data engineering, or ML infrastructure
- Expertise in Go, Rust, or Java, with a strong grasp of architecture and design principles
- Deep familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
- Proven success scaling streaming or batch data pipelines (Kafka, Spark, Flink, or similar frameworks)
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis)
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and MLOps practices for production systems
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, OpenTelemetry)
- Solid understanding of data formats and standards — JSON, Parquet, StatsD, syslog, etc.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD automation
- Strong analytical and optimization skills, with the ability to balance performance, scalability, and cost
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working cross-functionally
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree a plus)
