We are seeking Firewall Level 3 Engineers with strong expertise in Cisco and Check Point firewalls to join our team in a fully remote capacity. If you’re an experienced firewall engineer who thrives in an operations-focused environment and can adapt to flexible schedules, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities

Firewall Administration & Troubleshooting

• Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA, and Check Point firewalls.
• Analyze and optimize firewall rules to ensure maximum security and efficiency.
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex firewall issues.

Operations & Incident Response

• Work in a dynamic, operations-driven environment where no two days are the same.
• Respond to firewall-related security incidents and coordinate resolution efforts.
• Ensure firewall policies align with industry best practices and compliance standards.

Security Strategy & Integration

• Develop firewall strategies that support the organization’s broader security initiatives.
• Integrate firewalls with other security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
• Automate firewall management tasks using Python, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.

Flexible Scheduling & Adaptability

• Work a 40-hour week, but expect a flexible schedule based on operational needs.
• Some shifts may require working early mornings or late evenings with the ability to adjust hours earlier in the day.
• Overtime is not required unless pre-approved by leadership.
• Candidates with previous experience in an operations-driven culture will adapt best to this role.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with senior engineers, IT security teams, and leadership to enhance firewall security.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in network security with hands-on expertise in Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA, and Check Point firewalls.
• 5+ years of firewall operations experience, with deep knowledge of firewall rules, configurations, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and threat mitigation strategies.
• Proficiency in Linux and experience with Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages for automation.
• Flexibility to work in a dynamic operations environment, including occasional evening or early morning shifts.
