Technical Documentation Engineer (CCMS & XML Standards)

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for the digital lifecycle of technical information for complex energy systems. You will utilize TechPub Studio and the PI-Mod DTD to transform engineering data into high-quality, modular technical documentation. Your work ensures that our global service technicians and customers can safely operate, maintain, and repair the infrastructure that powers societies.

Key Responsibilities

• Modular Content Creation: Develop and maintain structured technical documentation (Operating Manuals, Maintenance Instructions, and Parts Catalogs) using TechPub Studio.

• Information Architecture: Implement and optimize the PI-Mod XML information model to ensure high degrees of content reuse across different turbine types or grid components.

• Digital Transformation: Support the transition from static PDF manuals to dynamic, "Smart Information" delivered via mobile devices and digital twins.

• Quality & Compliance: Validate XML structures against the PI-Mod DTD and manage the release workflows within the CCMS to ensure "Ready for Operation" status.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Academic Background: Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or Information Management.
• Industry Experience: 3+ years in technical communication, specifically within Power Generation, Oil & Gas, or Large-Scale Industrial Plant Engineering.

Technical Skills & Tools

• Core Systems: Expert proficiency in DOCUFY TechPub Studio (or equivalent Siemens-standard CCMS).
• XML Expertise: Deep understanding of the PI-Mod DTD (Document Type Definition) and the logic of modular documentation.
• Editing Tools: Experience with professional XML editors (e.g., Arbortext, Oxygen) and graphics tools for technical illustrations.
• Standardization: Familiarity with the VDI 4500 guideline or similar standards for technical documentation in Germany.

Soft Skills

• Safety Mindset: A rigorous approach to accuracy, understanding that documentation is a key component of operational safety.
• Global Collaboration: Ability to work in a decentralized, international team.
• Linguistic Skills: Business-level proficiency in English ( German is a plus )
