About Seed Talks

Seed Talks is a fast-growing talks and events platform curating live experiences across the UK, Ireland, USA and Australia. Our events bring together the leading thinkers in psychology, neuroscience, wellness, psychedelics, feminism, history and more.

Since launching in late 2021, we’ve rapidly expanded to programming over 60 monthly events and sold over 135,000 tickets in 2025. Our offerings now include talks, workshops, online courses, and small-scale conferences, with future growth focused on expanding our digital education, community membership, and international reach.

We’re a close-knit team of 14 (including part-timers), and we're excited to welcome someone to take our marketing to the next level.

The Role

This is a senior leadership role for someone who wants genuine ownership of a marketing function. You’ll set the direction for marketing across the business, translating company goals from the founders into a clear strategy, targets and plan for the team, and you’ll be accountable for delivering against them.

You’ll own our marketing budget and channel mix across paid media, email, social and creative, working closely with our Head of Growth on commercial strategy and with the programming team to make sure audience data shapes what we put on. You’ll be trusted to make big calls independently and to bring the right decisions to the leadership table.

Our content spans a wide range of topics, from mental health to medieval history, from feminism to intergenerational trauma. This means we require a candidate with a high degree of intuition, emotional intelligence, and curiosity. Marketing our topics requires a high level of sensitivity and cultural awareness. Ideally, you would have a degree in a relevant field which gives you a solid understanding of one of our content pillars (Psychology, Neuroscience, History, Classics, Science, Mental Health, etc) or another relevant qualification or experience.

Seed Talks is a rapidly growing start up and this role is a senior leadership position. As the company grows,this role will grow in responsibility and authority; we are looking for a candidate with high career aspirations and confidence to face challenges head-on, learning as they go.

Responsibilities:

• Set and own the marketing strategy, turning company-level goals into team targets, priorities and quarterly plans
• Lead, manage and develop the marketing team, and help shape how the team grows
• Own the marketing budget and allocate spend across channels to maximise return
• Oversee paid social and paid search: budgets, creative testing and scaling campaigns profitably
• Drive growth in our international markets, adapting our approach for the USA, Australia and beyond
• Identify, test and scale new marketing channels and partnerships
• Build clear performance reporting across all channels and share insights with leadership and programming
• Champion a test-and-learn culture, using A/B testing and data to guide decisions
• Improve conversion end-to-end, from first touchpoint through to purchase and repeat attendance
• Oversee email marketing and CRM, growing our audience and lifetime value
• Guide our organic social and content strategy, and lead creative brainstorms
• Strengthen and protect the Seed Talks brand as we grow into new formats and markets

What we’re looking for:

• Experience owning a marketing budget and being accountable for results
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, results-driven start-up environment
• Highly confident with data analysis, attribution and commercial metrics
• Proven line management experience and confidence leading a team
• A degree or qualification relevant to our subjects. We’d love you to have an understanding of our content and assist with programming
• 5+ years in a marketing role
• Strong strategic thinking alongside a willingness to stay hands-on
• Meta ads experience
• Experience across other platforms: Google, LinkedIn, Reddit, TikTok etc.
• Email marketing and CRM experience (Mailchimp or equivalent)
• Experience owning project P&Ls
• Experience marketing into international markets, particularly the USA or Australia
• PR experience or managing external partners and agencies
• Background in events, culture, education or subscription/membership brands
• A genuine interest in our subject areas: psychology, science, culture, history and more!
