Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. This role demands a seasoned professional with deep expertise in software development, a strong grasp of cybersecurity principles, and a proven track record of delivering secure, high-performance applications. The Senior Developer will lead the design and implementation of advanced security solutions, mentor team members, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle complex challenges in a fast-evolving threat landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- System Design & Development: Architect, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance software solutions tailored for cybersecurity applications.
- Secure Coding Practices: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to secure coding standards and industry best practices (e.g., OWASP, CERT).
- Security Integration: Implement robust security features to mitigate vulnerabilities such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), CSRF, and other OWASP Top 10 threats.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, security engineers, and DevOps teams to define requirements, design solutions, and ensure seamless integration.
- Code Quality & Review: Lead code reviews to enforce quality, security, and maintainability standards across the codebase.
- Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring applications meet stringent reliability and scalability requirements.
- Threat Awareness: Stay ahead of emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies to proactively enhance application security.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor junior developers, fostering technical growth and promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Testing & Validation: Design and implement comprehensive unit, integration, and security tests to ensure application robustness and resilience.
- Incident Response Support: Collaborate with incident response teams to address security incidents and implement preventive measures.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on cybersecurity or secure software development.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala
- Deep knowledge of secure coding practices, security frameworks (e.g., OWASP, NIST, CIS), and secure SDLC methodologies.
- Proficiency in web and API development (REST, GraphQL) using frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automation tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI).
- Expertise in cryptography (e.g., AES, RSA), authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, SAML, OpenID Connect), and network security principles.
- Familiarity with static and dynamic application security testing (SAST/DAST) tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, or tools like Burp Suite, Metasploit, or Nessus.
- Expertise in secure DevSecOps practices and infrastructure as code (e.g. Ansible).
- Industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, or CSSLP.
- Experience with microservices architectures, event-driven systems, or zero-trust security models.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001).
