SAP BW4HANA Engineer

Project Overview

Moving global Finance reporting and planning solutions to the chosen landscape to enable decommissioning of the legacy IT platform

Requirements

• Several years of experience in SAP BW reporting development, preferably within the Finance domain (Senior Developer / BW Expert).
• Proven expertise in SAP BW/4HANA, S/4HANA, FIORI, and HANA Native modeling, with deep hands-on experience in reporting development.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling and ETL processes using CDS Views, HANA Views, SAP BW extractors, and general data warehousing principles.
• Proficiency in SAP BusinessObjects and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for visualization and analytics.
• Ability to read and write ABAP, Python, and SQL code.
• Experience working with SAP Solution Manager; Datasphere experience is a strong plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience in agile project environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic setting while working independently.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset, skilled at translating business needs into actionable solutions.
• Able to simplify complex topics into clear, structured components.
• Excellent command of English, capable of independently engaging both business and IT stakeholders.
• Proven commitment to continuous improvement in processes, tools, and organization.
• Desired understanding of core Finance processes — especially:
• Marketing Plan to Cash (MP2C)
• Record to Analyze (R2A)
• Plan to Retire Fixed Asset (P2RFA)
• Plan to Deliver Product (PD2P)

Responsibilities

• Analyze and understand finance reporting requirements within the ASPIRE program, focusing on all Finance processes in Analytics & Reporting.
• Conceptualize, design, and implement innovative Finance reporting solutions across SAP BW/4HANA, S/4HANA, Datasphere, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), aligned with project guidelines and Enterprise Architecture standards.
• Perform data modeling, extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities to ensure high-quality and consistent data structures.
• Conduct testing and validation to secure the accuracy, reliability, and usability of all reporting solutions.
• Document technical and functional specifications using SAP Solution Manager.
• Provide technical support and guidance on Finance reporting solutions during deployment.
• Collaborate closely with the Analytics & Reporting Finance business team, cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and the product owner to gather requirements and deliver cohesive end-to-end solutions.
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging SAP technologies related to Finance reporting.
• Leverage FIORI development in S/4HANA to enhance the user interface and user experience.
• Utilize SAP Datasphere capabilities to improve data accessibility, integration, and reporting efficiency.
