ABOUT THE CLIENT

You will be joining a major engineering programme for a global financial technology business modernising the infrastructure behind institutional trading and capital markets.

Much of the financial industry still relies on technology built decades ago. This organisation is helping replace that legacy infrastructure with modern, cloud native systems built around real time data, scalability and the demands of today's global markets.

The technology operates across sophisticated areas of the financial markets, creating an engineering environment where performance, reliability and technical quality are fundamental.

This is a technology led environment with an exceptionally high engineering bar.

THE ROLE, PRINCIPAL REACT ENGINEER

This is more than a very strong React individual contributor role, but it is not a conventional Engineering Manager position either.

You need to remain technically credible with exceptional React engineers while taking responsibility for people, delivery and senior client relationships.

Technically, that means genuine depth around React internals, rendering behaviour, performance, state architecture, JavaScript and TypeScript.

From a leadership perspective, you will line manage engineers, including around two to three team leads, help decide how engineering capability is deployed and become involved when difficult delivery or client issues need resolving.

You will also work closely with account management and carry genuine responsibility for the success of the engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Provide technical leadership across complex React engineering

· Remain close to React architecture, performance and engineering standards

· Line manage engineers and team leads

· Help determine how engineering teams and individuals are deployed

· Work directly with senior client stakeholders

· Take ownership of difficult delivery and client issues

· Work closely with account management

· Maintain exceptional engineering and testing standards

· Mentor and develop senior technical people

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

· Exceptional commercial React experience

· Deep understanding of React internals and rendering behaviour

· Strong JavaScript and TypeScript fundamentals

· Performance optimisation and complex state architecture

· Strong software testing discipline

· Previous line management responsibility

· Experience managing senior engineers or team leads

· Strong client facing communication

· Experience taking responsibility for delivery or commercial outcomes

· Strong spoken English

· Polish right to work without sponsorship

· Based in Wroclaw

DESIRABLE, NOT ESSENTIAL

· Financial services or trading technology experience

· Capital markets knowledge

· Low latency or performance sensitive systems

· Consultancy experience

· Experience leading multiple technical teams

· Experience managing senior client relationships and escalations

EMPLOYMENT

This is a permanent position under a Polish UoP contract.

B2B arrangements cannot be considered.

Candidates must be based in Wroclaw.
