We are seeking an experienced Product Design contractor to support the establishment and enhancement of our design system within Figma. This role will focus on identifying gaps in our existing system, proposing structured solutions, and executing updates to ensure alignment, consistency, and scalability across all UI components.

The project centers around building a robust design system foundation in Figma, including the implementation of a structured token system and the alignment of current assets to newly established standards. This initiative will reduce design debt, promote consistency, and provide a scalable base for future design and development work.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct a comprehensive audit of the current design system in Figma and identify inconsistencies, redundancies, and gaps.
Develop a structured plan for addressing identified gaps with clear prioritization and timelines.
Establish and implement a scalable token system (colors, typography, spacing, etc.) and apply it across the UI library.
Align existing components with new design standards to ensure systematic consistency and usability.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (product designers, engineers, brand teams) to ensure seamless integration with development workflows.
Create clear documentation and guidelines to support the adoption and governance of the updated design system.
Provide expert-level guidance on Figma best practices, component structuring, naming conventions, and file organization.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in Product Design with a strong focus on design systems.
Proven expertise in Figma, including file structuring, components, variants, styles, and design tokens.
Hands-on experience auditing, building, or scaling complex design systems.
Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and design consistency.
Ability to analyze and refactor existing UI components for alignment and efficiency.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and brand.
Familiarity with design system governance and maintenance practices.
Ability to share Figma design system files or work samples demonstrating previous contributions to design system architecture.
