Senior Backend Engineer
(Remote | Full-Time)
We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Backend Engineer to join our core engineering team. This isn’t a role for generalists or those looking to ramp up—this is for someone who’s already operated at scale and is ready to have meaningful ownership over complex, distributed backend systems in production.
You’ll play a key role in designing and optimizing services that power high-throughput, low-latency platforms used by millions. We're solving real engineering challenges—data scale, system reliability, and performance under pressure—and we need someone who can dive in from day one.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and distributed systems.
- Drive performance optimization across the stack—latency, throughput, and fault tolerance.
- Lead architecture and design of microservices, data flows, and internal infrastructure.
- Ensure reliability of systems via strong observability—metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
- Own infrastructure components such as queues, caches, databases, and deployment pipelines.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and frontend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Champion engineering excellence through code reviews, mentorship, and clean, testable code.
Minimum Requirements (No Exceptions)
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments.
- Advanced experience with Golang and/or Rust in building scalable systems (both are preferred).
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, networking, and microservices architecture.
- Expertise in system-level performance tuning, multithreading, and fault-tolerant design.
- Solid experience with relational and NoSQL databases, as well as caching and messaging layers (e.g., Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Strong familiarity with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Proven ability to deliver in high-responsibility, fast-moving engineering environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in real-time systems, large-scale data pipelines, or high-performance environments.
- Experience working in fast-paced startups or elite engineering teams.
- Exposure to performance-sensitive domains such as gaming, ad tech, or high-frequency systems.
Why This Role
- High-impact engineering work—your code will be used at scale, every day.
- Autonomy to shape critical backend infrastructure and make key architectural decisions.
- Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits.
- Join a world-class team of engineers solving meaningful technical problems, fast.
This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role. If you’re a backend expert with real-world systems experience—and want to build with purpose—let’s talk.
