Job Title: Scrum Master with Data Engineering & Project Management Experience

1 year contract

100% Remote/Offshore(India)

Working hours 6 PM to 3 AM IST

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Scrum Master with a strong background in Data Engineering and proven experience in Project Management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for facilitating Agile ceremonies, guiding teams towards Agile best practices, managing end-to-end delivery of data-driven projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust data engineering solutions.

We need at least 8+ years of experience as Scrum Master

Responsibilities:

Act as Scrum Master for 1-2 Agile teams focused on Data Engineering and Analytics projects.

Facilitate all Agile ceremonies: Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Retrospectives, and Sprint Reviews.

Partner with Product Owners to ensure well-defined product backlogs and user stories.

Remove impediments and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics.

Guide the team on self-organization and Agile best practices.

Coordinate project planning, resource allocation, and risk management for data initiatives.

Oversee and track the progress of data migration, ETL pipeline development, data warehouse modernization, and analytics platform upgrades.

Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Business Stakeholders to ensure project alignment.

Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.

Create and maintain project documentation including status reports, RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions), and sprint metrics (burndown charts, velocity tracking).

Manage vendor relationships and ensure third-party deliverables meet internal standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PSM I (Professional Scrum Master), or equivalent Agile certification.

5+ years of overall professional experience.

2+ years as a Scrum Master working with data engineering, big data, or analytics teams.

2+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Technical Project Coordinator.

Hands-on understanding of Data Engineering concepts: ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), SQL, data lakes, and data warehouses.

Strong working knowledge of Agile and Scrum frameworks and how to apply them in complex environments.

Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, or equivalent.

Experience managing data platform migrations, data ingestion pipelines, or real-time data streaming projects (Kafka, Spark is a plus).

Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, DevOps practices related to data engineering.

Experience with reporting and dashboard tools (PowerBI, Tableau) is a plus.

Experience working in hybrid (Agile + Waterfall) project environments.

Prior experience in the Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail, or Technology sectors.
