What you`ll do:

_Following the “Software as a Service” (SaaS) approach, the operational and the maintenance activities for a software operated in the cloud are not on the customer side anymore. Getting more understanding about what is happening inside of the application with respect to the performance and the content usage is one of the major requirements of many customers of such cloud products of SAP as Analytics Cloud, Data Sphere and Business Data Cloud.

_We are investing continiously in collecting and analyzing usage and performance metrics to enhance our SaaS cloud software. As a Senior Data Scientist_, you will play an important role in transforming raw data into actionable insights—both to optimize our platform and to deliver high-impact value to our customers. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, and customer success teams to identify trends, predict outcomes, improve performance and stability and build scalable and enterprise-ready solutions. Your key responsibilitis are going to be

• Data-Driven Product Improvement: Analyze usage patterns, performance bottlenecks, and feature adoption to guide product roadmaps and engineering priorities.
• Customer Insights: Develop models and dashboards that surface actionable insights for customers, enabling them to maximize the value of our platform.
• Predictive & Prescriptive Analytics: Build and deploy ML models to forecast usage trends, detect anomalies, and recommend optimizations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering to instrument data collection, and with product teams to translate insights into features.
• Scalable Data Solutions: Design and implement robust pipelines, ETL processes, and data architectures to support real-time analytics.

What You Bring

• University degree in computer science, physics, mathematics or related areas
• Analytical skills, ability to work on complex problems and to do the conceptual work
• Good programming skills
• Strong background in statistical analysis
• Experience with data visualization and dashboarding.
• Knowledge and experience with SAP HANA is preferable
• Strong team player
• Fluent in German and English
