About the Role

The Senior SEO Specialist will own the program's end-to-end SEO strategy and execution, improving organic visibility and search performance across public-facing websites and applications. The role combines technical SEO, content optimization, analytics, keyword strategy, stakeholder advising, and ongoing performance reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end SEO program and conduct regular performance analyses against Federal, DoD, and industry best practices.
  • Establish SEO baseline metrics and KPIs and report progress against targets.
  • Analyze organic visibility, user behavior, conversion rates, site speed, crawl issues, and other technical SEO indicators.
  • Lead keyword research around user intent and long-tail search behavior and implement internal linking, schema markup, and site-speed improvements.
  • Develop link-building and content-promotion strategies to improve domain authority and organic performance.
  • Advise content and editorial teams on embedding SEO best practices into content planning and development.
  • Provide keyword and search-trend guidance across communications, social media, and campaign planning.
  • Deliver SEO reporting, recommendations, training, and workshops to stakeholders and staff.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • BA/BS in Marketing, Digital Communications, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on SEO experience, including technical SEO, on-page optimization, and content-driven SEO strategy for large, high-traffic websites.
  • Experience with tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, or equivalent.
  • Experience setting and tracking SEO KPIs and presenting data-driven performance reporting to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of schema markup, structured data, site-speed optimization, and technical SEO diagnostics.
  • Experience developing keyword strategy based on user intent and long-tail search research.
  • Preferred experience includes government or DoD SEO, voice-search optimization, relevant SEO/analytics certifications, or mentoring junior SEO/content staff.
