About the Role

Translate the onX Fish brand and marketing strategy into a distinctive media experience across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, podcasts, and emerging platforms. Define what the brand talks about, how it shows up, and whose stories it tells, connecting national strategy with regional fishing communities to build relevance, community, and lasting brand affinity.

Responsibilities

  • Own the media and editorial vision, defining each channel's purpose, programming, formats, voices, and creative direction.
  • Turn seasonal fishing behavior, audience insights, product moments, and cultural trends into recurring series, education, entertainment, and community storytelling.
  • Lead the editorial process from planning and creative briefs through publishing and learning, working with Creative, creators, ambassadors, and other contributors.
  • Give Field Reps and regional experts a scalable way to share local people, places, traditions, and fishing cultures within a cohesive national brand.
  • Develop recurring brand voices and guide participation in comments, groups, creator communities, and emerging online spaces.
  • Own organic media performance across audience growth, engagement, loyalty, relevance, and business impact. Use data and community feedback to decide what to scale, change, stop, or test.
  • Experiment with AI, emerging tools, and new media formats where they improve insight, content quality, speed, or effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in organic social, media, content, or editorial marketing, with demonstrated success growing a distinctive brand across multiple channels.
  • Hands-on ownership of social and media strategy across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and/or podcasts, including recurring programming.
  • Strong editorial and creative judgment, supported by audience insights and performance data.
  • Ability to lead through influence, align cross-functional teams and contributors, prioritize competing opportunities, and move between strategy and execution.
  • Demonstrated use of AI and emerging technologies in media or creative workflows.
  • Familiarity with fishing, outdoor culture, or another enthusiast-driven community strongly preferred. Curiosity and the ability to build credibility with anglers are essential.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, permanent US work authorization, and alignment with onX's Company Values.
  • Ability to travel up to quarterly for multiple days to a corporate office or other strategic location.

Experience building an early-stage media or editorial function, developing podcasts or recurring video series, or activating regional contributors is a plus.

Work Location

onX prioritizes candidates near its Bozeman and Missoula, MT offices or within 60 miles of its remote workforce Basecamps in Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Kalispell, MT; Minneapolis, MN; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; and Seattle, WA.

Basecamps are geographic hubs, not physical offices. Candidates elsewhere in eligible US states may also be considered.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Stated pay range of $113,000 to $142,000 upon hire, depending on experience, skills, certifications, education, and other relevant factors.
  • Full-time employees are eligible for common share options with a vesting schedule and an annual bonus of 10% based on company performance.
