Lead Software Engineer - Python, APIs, Azure, AI Integration

We’re partnering with a high-performing Microsoft partner that is expanding its AI and data engineering capability across ANZ.

They’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who enjoys building the technical foundations that enable modern data and AI solutions.

This role focuses on building the software layer that sits on top of data platforms — creating APIs, integrations, and bespoke solutions that enable organisations to unlock the value of their data.

It’s a backend-focused engineering role with strong exposure to Azure, Python, and AI integrations, including opportunities to work with Copilot Studio and modern AI services.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building backend services and APIs that support modern data platforms
• Developing Python-based solutions across Azure environments
• Designing and building bespoke applications on top of enterprise data platforms
• Supporting integration of AI services and Copilot capabilities
• Working closely with data engineers and platform architects
• Helping mentor junior engineers within the team
• Delivering solutions across multiple industries and customer environments

What They’re Looking For

• Strong experience with Python backend development
• Experience building APIs and service-based architectures
• Experience working within Azure environments
• Familiarity with data platforms or data engineering ecosystems
• Exposure to AI integrations or modern AI services is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with customers
• Experience working within consulting or project delivery environments
