RYZ Labs – Engineering /
Full Time - Contract /
Remote
RYZ Labs is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to work with one of our partners; a start up dedicated to improve the healthcare experience for patients by providing personalized assistance through healthcare advocates.
What you’ll do:
- Design, build, and launch the patient and advocate-facing apps, backend services, and integrations.
- Move fast — prioritize shipping value while managing technical debt intentionally.
- Leverage LLMs, APIs, and custom models to automate intake, triage, and follow-up.
- Integrate AI into the daily tools advocates use, from summarization to proactive care nudges.
- Translate ambiguous product needs into clear, buildable solutions.
- Decide what to build in-house vs. integrate via third-party APIs.
- Work with clinical, ops, and growth leads to ensure product solves real user problems.
- Join early customer calls to see pain points firsthand.
What we are looking for:
- Have 8**+ years full-stack experience** (e.g., Ruby on Rails, Python/Django, Elixir/Phoenix, or similar backends + React/Next.js or similar frontends).
- Have shipped production code in healthcare or another regulated industry.
- Are fluent in AI development — prompt engineering, fine-tuning, API integration, vector databases, RAG pipelines.
- Can design secure, HIPAA-compliant systems.
- Have experience with RESTful APIs, relational databases, and cloud hosting (AWS, GCP, or PaaS like Aptible/Fly.io).
- Are 80%+ hands-on coding in your current role and want to stay that way.
- Thrive in startup chaos and want a seat at the table in technical + product decisions.
- Experience with AI at other startups, strong Django and Python skills and experience working directly with EHRs, claims systems, or care coordination tools is a Plus.
Our values and what to expect:
- Customer First Mentality - every decision we make should be made through the lens of the customer.
- Bias for Action - urgency is critical, expect that the timeline to get something done is accelerated.
- Ownership - step up if you see an opportunity to help, even if not your core responsibility.
- Humility and Respect - be willing to learn, be vulnerable, and treat everyone who interacts with RYZ with respect.
- Frugality - being frugal and cost-conscious helps us do more with less
- Deliver Impact - get things done most efficiently.
- Raise our Standards - always be looking to improve our processes, our team, and our expectations. The status quo is not good enough and never should be.
