RYZ Labs – Engineering /
Full Time - Contract /
Remote
RYZ Labs is seeking a Lead Designer to work with one of our partners; a start up dedicated to improve the healthcare experience for patients by providing personalized assistance through healthcare advocates.
What you’ll do:
Design the patient, advocate, and partner-facing experiences. Own user journeys: onboarding, retention, dashboards, and outcomes reporting. Create the company's design system from scratch. Ensure consistency, accessibility, and scalability across apps. User Research & Testing. Work with founders, engineering, and clinical ops to prioritize what gets built. Branding.
What we’re looking for:
- 8–12+ years of product design experience, ideally Staff/Principal-level.
- Have designed 0→1 products at startups, taking them from prototype → launch → scale.
- Can move fluidly between UX strategy, service design, and pixel-level craft.
- Thrive in ambiguity: you can create clarity where none exists.
- Have a portfolio that shows systems thinking + craft (not just pretty UI).
- Comfortable working alongside engineers and PMs, influencing roadmap decisions.
- Deep empathy for patients and providers navigating complex systems.
Bonus points if you’ve:
- Designed in healthcare, insurance, fintech, or other regulated industries.
- Worked on workflow-heavy SaaS or AI-powered products.
- Experience creating or running a design system.
- Basic comfort with front-end or no-code tools (Webflow, Framer, Retool).
Our values and what to expect:
- Customer First Mentality - every decision we make should be made through the lens of the customer.
- Bias for Action - urgency is critical, expect that the timeline to get something done is accelerated.
- Ownership - step up if you see an opportunity to help, even if not your core responsibility.
- Humility and Respect - be willing to learn, be vulnerable, and treat everyone who interacts with RYZ with respect.
- Frugality - being frugal and cost-conscious helps us do more with less
- Deliver Impact - get things done most efficiently.
- Raise our Standards - always be looking to improve our processes, our team, and our expectations. The status quo is not good enough and never should be.
