Marketing and Growth Lead (Co-founder Track)

Company: Ryser (ryserapp.com)

Location: Fully remote, open worldwide

Hours: Part-time, 15 to 20 hours per week, including a few hours of weekly overlap with UK working hours

Reports to: Founder

Compensation: Equity-based, co-founder track (see Structure and Compensation below)

About Ryser

Ryser is an AI copilot for the job search. The platform tailors a candidate's CV to any job description within seconds, shows exactly what has changed, and grounds every line in their real experience rather than inventing it. Alongside CV tailoring, Ryser matches candidates to live vacancies across more than seventeen job boards in six regions including the GCC, scores CVs against the applicant tracking systems that will screen them, drafts cover letters, and tracks applications through to offer stage. The core product is free permanently; a Pro tier at £9 per month adds live AI mock interviews, recruiter and referral outreach, and offer comparison.

The company exists to make well-prepared job applications available to everyone, rather than only to those who can afford professional career support.

The platform was designed and built by the founder and is live, with users already securing interviews through it. The immediate priority is distribution: building awareness among job seekers and converting that awareness into sign-ups.

The Role

Ryser is seeking a marketing and growth lead to take ownership of the entire demand side of the business. This is a founding appointment with a defined route to equity rather than a conventional employed position, and it will suit someone who wants substantial ownership of a function and, in time, of the company.

The successful candidate will set the marketing strategy and deliver it independently, working directly with the founder, who continues to lead product and engineering. There is no existing marketing team, no established playbook and no agency support; building all three forms part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

Product launches and directory presence

- Managing Ryser's listings across AI and product discovery platforms, including Product Hunt, There's An AI For That, Futurepedia, Toolify, BetaList, Uneed, SaaSHub and AlternativeTo

- Planning and running launch campaigns from preparation through to post-launch follow-up, covering assets, scheduling, community engagement and response management

- Writing listing copy, taglines and product descriptions suited to the ranking and discovery mechanics of each individual platform

- Maintaining a record of listings, rankings, referral traffic and resulting conversions

Social media and content

- Establishing and managing Ryser's presence across LinkedIn, X, TikTok and any further channels the candidate judges worthwhile

- Owning the content calendar, including writing, scheduling, publishing and responding

- Developing the founder's LinkedIn profile as a distribution channel alongside the brand account

- Turning product developments, careers advice and user outcomes into content with organic reach

Community engagement

- Building Ryser's presence in the communities where job seekers already gather, including Reddit, Discord servers, Blind and Hacker News, through useful contribution rather than promotion

- Handling inbound enquiries and comments across all channels

- Feeding user feedback back into the product roadmap

Performance and reporting

- Tracking sign-ups by acquisition channel

- Reporting weekly on channel performance and reallocating effort accordingly

- Monitoring and improving conversion from the free tier to Pro

Requirements

- Demonstrable experience of growing an audience, community or product from an early stage, supported by figures

- Strong written English, with the ability to produce copy in a consistent brand voice

- Comfort operating autonomously as the sole marketing function, without supervision or established process

- A working understanding of the AI tools market and the ability to write about it credibly

- Availability to commit 15 to 20 hours per week consistently across the six-month period

- A few hours of weekly overlap with UK working hours

Desirable

- Arabic language skills, as Ryser serves GCC and MENA job seekers and operates an Arabic-language site

- Previous experience of Product Hunt launches or AI directory submissions

- Working knowledge of Figma or Canva for producing launch assets

- Short-form video production and editing

Structure and Compensation

Ryser is pre-revenue and self-funded, and the position does not carry a salary at this stage. It is structured instead as a route to co-founder equity.

The appointment begins with a six-month working period, during which the successful candidate holds full responsibility for marketing. Following a review at the end of that period, and subject to agreement on both sides, the role converts to a founding equity stake of between 4 and 8 per cent, held on a four-year vesting schedule with a twelve-month cliff. The initial six months count towards that cliff.

Terms covering equity, vesting, intellectual property and departure arrangements will be agreed and set out in writing before the working period begins.

Candidates who require a salary are asked not to apply, as the position is unable to accommodate one at present.

How to Apply

Please send the following to theryserapp@gmail.com:

1. A short covering note setting out your interest in Ryser

2. Links to any audience, community or product you have grown, with supporting figures

3. A brief proposal, in no more than three sentences, identifying the platform on which you would launch Ryser first, your reasoning, and an outline of the listing copy you would write

Applications that omit the third item will not be considered. All applicants who include it will receive a response.
