Senior Software Engineer (AI Integrations)

RWS is building the next generation of AI-enabled capabilities across our products, internal production systems, and enterprise platforms. To accelerate this effort, we’re establishing a small, focused team to deliver the foundational integrations that will allow Agentspace, Gemini Enterprise, and other AI workflow engines to interact securely and intelligently with our core systems.

As a Senior Software Engineer – AI Integrations, you will be responsible for building the connective tissue between our enterprise systems and our emerging AI platform layer. This role sits at the intersection of backend engineering, cloud services, and systems integration. You will design and implement the APIs, service integrations, cloud functions, and orchestration patterns that allow AI agents to access the right data, take actions safely, and deliver value across RWS.

This is a hands-on contract role suited to someone who enjoys working in fast-moving environments, shaping patterns from the ground up, and collaborating closely with product, data, and platform teams to create well-engineered foundations for AI at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Job Overview

Designing and delivering the integration points and backend capabilities required for AI agents to understand context and perform useful actions. Typical areas of focus include:

• Building secure, reliable integrations into enterprise systems such as Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Jira, and Confluence.
• Developing backend services and cloud functions that expose platform capabilities to AI agents.
• Implementing orchestration patterns that allow Agentspace and Gemini Enterprise to connect with RWS data, workflows, and tools.
• Designing clean, scalable API contracts for agent “tools” and action interfaces.
• Ensuring integration components are secure, well-tested, observable, and aligned with platform governance.
• Working closely with the data platform teams to enable safe access to curated datasets used by agent workflows.
• Contributing to the early engineering patterns, reusable modules, and integration architecture that will underpin our broader AI enablement strategy.

This is a key role in turning our AI use cases into working, production-ready capabilities by giving agents the ability to retrieve context, understand content, and trigger actions across RWS systems.

Skills & Experience

• Significant experience as a backend or platform-leaning software engineer.
• Strong capability in designing and implementing system-to-system integrations.
• Experience working with modern cloud serverless environments (e.g., Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Lambda, Azure Functions).
• Comfortable working with OAuth flows, secrets management, IAM, and secure service-to-service communication.
• Familiarity with enterprise integration APIs and ability to design clean, reliable API interfaces used by other engineers or downstream systems.
• A mindset oriented around stability, observability, and operational readiness.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with product, platform, and data teams.
• Experience with AI platforms (e.g., Gemini, OpenAI, LangChain, internal agent frameworks) is beneficial.
