Freelance Shopify Developer

Job Description:

We’re looking for a skilled freelance Shopify developer to help optimize, update, and maintain our e-commerce site. This is a contract-based role with the opportunity for ongoing work. You’ll be collaborating with a small, creative, and mission-driven fashion brand focused on sustainability, handcraft, and thoughtful design.

Our creative team is based in New York and marketing team is based in India.

What you'll do:

• Customize and update our current Shopify theme to improve user experience and site performance
• Build new pages/templates as needed (e.g., product landing pages, collection filters, promotional pages)
• Optimize for mobile responsiveness and speed
• Integrate third-party apps or custom code to enhance functionality (i.e., loyalty programs, reviews, wishlist, etc.)
• Troubleshoot bugs and implement fixes quickly
• Support occasional special projects (sales events, product launches, etc.)

Experience:

• 3+ years of Shopify development experience (Shopify 2.0 a plus)
• Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid (Shopify’s templating language)
• Experience with Shopify themes (custom or premium)
• Familiar with UX/UI best practices for e-commerce
• Ability to communicate clearly and work independently
• Bonus: experience with Klaviyo, SEO, or Shopify Plus
