The Software Engineer - Content Management will oversee the design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of structured content databases. This individual will play a key role in managing content repositories, ensuring seamless integration with content management systems (CMS), and supporting organizational goals by ensuring the availability, security, and performance of database infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Database Design and Management
Develop and maintain structured content databases to support dynamic content delivery and reuse.
Design scalable database schemas to store and manage structured content such as XML, JSON, and DITA-based information.
Optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
Manage data modeling, indexing, and version control for structured content.
Integration and Development
Integrate databases with content management systems (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager, SDL Tridion Docs, or other CCMS platforms).
Collaborate with developers to implement database-driven workflows and automated content delivery pipelines.
Ensure seamless integration between databases, APIs, and enterprise applications.
Implement integrated translations and accessibility technologies in delivery stages
Maintenance and Optimization
Monitor database performance and execute tuning to maintain optimal efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including data integrity and application performance problems.
Plan and implement database upgrades, migrations, and patches.
Security and Compliance
Implement and maintain robust database security measures to protect sensitive information.
Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy laws, and industry regulations.
Regularly audit database access and security protocols.
Collaboration and Leadership
Lead cross-functional teams to define database requirements and implement solutions.
Mentor junior database administrators and provide training on best practices for structured content management.
Act as the subject matter expert for structured content databases within the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
RRD's current salary range for this role is $141,000 to $225,600 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
