The Role:
The Head of Sales & Marketing role is a pivotal position within Root Digital and the first hire into our Commercial team. The Head of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for growth of the agency through prospecting clients, deciding our marketing direction and winning new business.
Key aspects of the role will include:
· Proactively source new opportunities for the agency to pitch our Digital PR and Content Marketing capabilities
· Keep information on clients and potential clients, including their pain-points, contact details, budgets, etc.
· Generate information on potential clients including their own marketing performance using popular tools (Ahrefs, etc.) to help pitch why they should be using our service and how we can help them better compete in their marketplace using data to back-up recommendations.
· Be our lead in all new sales conversations with clients including taking on inbound leads and referrals to the agency
· Attend networking events and conferences to expand our visibility and research what’s working for other agencies that we could replicate/build on
· Implement tools and software such as prospecting tools, automation and a CRM
· Being an expert at navigating negotiations and contracts
· Log ‘client win’ information and case study shares from competitors so we know who is paying for agency support and when contracts are likely to be up for renewal
· Develop internal processes for identifying, prospecting and nurturing client relationships that others joining the commercial team can easily navigate
· Research and strategize content for the company to produce marketing material to appeal to our target clients. This can include videos we should produce for social media, social media posts, blog articles, whitepapers, newsletter, etc.
· Keep information on our key competitors to ensure our own value proposition continues to be market leading
· Generate sales material and decks that build our clients core needs and concerns
· Reporting to the agency CEO regularly on activity and performance across both sales and marketing
About you
· Have a working knowledge of Digital PR, Content Marketing and SEO to better discuss with clients through sales and on-boarding
· 3+ years of working in agency sales, pitching for and winning contracts with average values over £100k.
· Created marketing strategies and led content strategies that successfully developed leads and closed new business
· Have an existing network we can build upon to develop new business

· Basic salary of £50k + OTE
