Job Description Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer to join our team working on a cutting-edge Mainframe Security Product. This role is ideal for an experienced developer with deep expertise in Assembler and REXX, as well as strong skills in JCL, ISPF, and mainframe utilities. The ideal candidate will be able to follow senior guidance while also taking ownership of tasks and leading when necessary.
The role requires a developer who is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a structured environment while ensuring the development and maintenance of robust, high-quality mainframe security solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Development & Implementation
Assembler
Develop, enhance, and maintain system-level mainframe security solutions using IBM Assembler.
Optimize performance and efficiency of low-level system functions.
Debug and troubleshoot assembler code for complex system interactions.
REXX
Develop and maintain REXX scripts to automate system operations, testing, and data processing.
Integrate REXX with mainframe utilities and security components.
Optimize and refactor existing REXX-based automation processes.
Mainframe Operations & Utilities
JCL & Utilities
Create, update, and optimize JCL scripts for batch job execution.
Utilize mainframe utilities for data processing, scheduling, and job control.
ISPF
Develop and enhance ISPF panels and dialogs for better user experience.
Work with ISPF services for efficient mainframe data manipulation.
Collaboration & Leadership

Experience with JIRA or any other project management tools. Excellent communication skills to facilitate discussions with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Prior experience working in Agile environments, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.

What Rocket Software can offer you in Vilnius:
Annual salary range for this position is between €52,500.00 - €97,500.00 gross before taxes.
Salary range applies only to candidates in Lithuania
Salary offer for the candidate is determined based on the predefined salary ranges for the position and depends on the level of competence and experience of the candidate.
