Job Title: Embedded Engineer (Remote)

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Embedded Engineer to design, develop, and optimize firmware and software for embedded systems. This role is fully remote and involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions for mission-critical products.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and test firmware for microcontrollers, microprocessors, and SoCs.
- Develop device drivers, hardware abstraction layers, and real-time applications.
- Interface with hardware teams to bring up new boards and debug hardware/software issues.
- Optimize code for performance, memory footprint, and power consumption.
- Integrate and validate new features within existing systems.
- Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other tools for debugging.
- Document code, processes, and test results for internal and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with QA and product teams to ensure deliverables meet functional and quality requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of professional experience in embedded firmware/software development.
- Proficiency in C/C++ (Rust or Python a plus).
- Experience with embedded operating systems (RTOS, Embedded Linux, FreeRTOS, etc.).
- Solid understanding of hardware–software integration, communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet).
- Experience with debugging tools (GDB, JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and issue tracking tools (Jira).
- Ability to work independently in a distributed team environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with IoT devices, wireless protocols (BLE, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, LoRa).
- Knowledge of security best practices for embedded devices.
- Exposure to automotive, aerospace, medical device, or industrial control systems.
