Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Marketing Specialist / Proposal Writer with 7+ years of experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) or commercial real estate construction industries. This role will play a critical part in developing compelling proposals, RFQs/RFP responses, and marketing materials that win new projects and strengthen client relationships. The ideal candidate has deep experience with pursuit strategy, understands the construction and design industry, and is skilled at translating technical information into persuasive, client-focused messaging.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of proposals, qualifications packages, and interview materials for major construction and design-build pursuits.
• Partner with business development, project executives, estimators, and architects to craft winning strategies and tailored messaging.
• Manage the proposal process end-to-end: kickoff, scheduling, writing, editing, design/layout, compliance, and submission.
• Maintain and update proposal content, project sheets, resumes, case studies, and marketing collateral.
• Create and manage marketing assets including brochures, presentations, and digital content to support business development efforts.
• Conduct market and client research to position the firm competitively in pursuits.
• Mentor junior marketing staff and provide oversight on deliverables to ensure quality and consistency.
• Uphold brand standards across all written, visual, and digital materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in marketing or proposal development within the AEC or commercial construction industry (contractors, design-build, or architecture firms).
• Proven success managing large, complex proposals in construction and real estate development.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to communicate technical content clearly.
• Expertise in Adobe InDesign and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office.
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
• Knowledge of construction delivery methods, design-build processes, and commercial real estate development terminology.
• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with experience supporting senior leadership in high-visibility pursuits.
