Job Title: Marketing Automation & Deliverability Consultant
Location: Fully Remote
Duration: Project-Based Contract
Pay Rate: $45-50/hr
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Marketing Automation & Deliverability Consultant to assess and resolve complex email deliverability issues, specifically with Gmail. You'll perform deep-dive audits, manage warm-up strategies, and implement fixes for SPF/DKIM/DMARC alignment across dedicated IPs and subdomains.
This is a hands-on role working directly with internal stakeholders and vendor support teams to restore trust, deliverability, and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct full deliverability audits (DNS, headers, engagement data, bounce logs, etc.)
- Guide the onboarding of a new dedicated HubSpot IP
- Troubleshoot and resolve causes of Gmail spam placement and domain/IP reputation issues
- Align SPF, DKIM, and return-path settings across dedicated IPs and subdomains
- Design and manage IP/subdomain warm-up strategies
- Volume planning
- Segment selection (engaged/non-Gmail first)
- Content engagement best practices
- Advise on sender reputation strategy (when to separate or retire domains)
- Interpret Google Postmaster Tools and Marketo bounce data
- Coordinate with client IT teams, Marketo Support, and Adobe Deliverability experts
- Recommend long-term inbox placement monitoring protocols
What We’re Looking For
- Proven success restoring Gmail inbox placement for high-volume senders
- Deep experience with Marketo and HubSpot deliverability troubleshooting
- Expert-level knowledge of SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and envelope sender configurations
- Familiarity with Google Postmaster Tools, SNDS, and bounce log analysis
- Strong understanding of sender reputation metrics: engagement, IP/domain trust, complaint rates
- Experience developing warm-up plans and managing email subdomain/IP strategies
Preferred Background
This role is ideal for a technical marketing consultant with hands-on experience in email infrastructure, marketing automation tools, and sender reputation recovery. Backgrounds in high-volume B2B or B2C email environments are especially valuable.
