About the Role

We are seeking a Generative AI Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract basis. This role reports directly to the Chief Product & AI Strategist and sits at the exciting intersection of software engineering and artificial intelligence.

This is not a data science or machine learning role—it’s designed for a full-stack software engineer with deep experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI into real-world applications. The right candidate is a hands-on builder who thrives in autonomy, excels in ambiguous environments, and can rapidly turn innovative ideas into scalable, production-ready tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deploy Generative AI applications and features using cutting-edge LLM APIs and open-source models
• Design multi-agent systems and advanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures using frameworks like LangChain
• Integrate vector databases and retrieval systems to support AI workflows
• Develop internal tools and pipelines that merge traditional software engineering with modern AI capabilities
• Create performance evaluation frameworks to assess application reliability and output quality
• Work cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to identify and implement AI-driven solutions

Requirements

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript
• Hands-on experience working with LLM APIs (e.g., GPT-4, Claude)
• Proficiency in LangChain, Vector Databases, and open APIs
• Experience using agentic tools like Cline, Cursor, and familiarity with prompt engineering best practices
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal guidance in fast-paced environments
• Commitment to automated testing and modern software engineering best practices
• Strong communication skills to explain AI capabilities and limitations to non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience with advanced RAG architectures using graph databases
• Familiarity with agent orchestration tools such as LangGraph or CrewAI
• Exposure to LLM evaluation/monitoring tools like LangSmith
• Knowledge of advanced retrieval techniques beyond standard semantic search
