The Project Manager has a fiduciary responsible for overseeing and managing RMC’s construction projects. This includes maintaining accurate, complete, and updated progress schedules for each project. The PM will work closely with other departments and externally with the clients, architects, subcontractors, along with other key players to ensure that projects are completed safely and on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The PM will also be responsible for ensuring that RMC complies with and operates within the laws, rules, regulations, and codes of the construction industry at all levels. This individual will need to have strong leadership capabilities, exceptional organizational skills, and the know-how to provide the necessary guidance to complete projects in an efficient and up to standards way. The candidate will be a part of the RMC culture and expected to adhere to the standards of respect and responsibility that are integral to our company.
Key Responsibilities
Ultimate responsibility for all aspects of the project.
As the designated Project Safety Officer, ensures that the project site is in full compliance with all RMC safety policies, procedures and practices.
To turn over to the client, in a timely fashion, the entire project with a high degree of quality in the manner prescribed by the contract documents.
To fully understand the contract documents and to ensure that any divergence from these documents is formally approved and incorporated into the final documents.
Actively assist in the preparation of and subsequent revisions to the project CPM schedule.
Responsible for all communications between all parties on the project.
Commit the Company to variable and fixed costs as provided in the project budget.
Ensure that the projected profit margins are maintained through the project completion.
Candidate Experience, Skills and Requirements The ideal candidate:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Proven experience in managing Big Box and other construction projects, in a leadership role. Direct experience working in cold storage/refrigerated or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes. Must be able to read and interpret plans.
• Must possess strong budgeting and financial skills and experience collaborating with the internal finance team.
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of sustainable construction practices and LEED certification is a plus.
• Ability to travel to assess and monitor construction projects as required.
• Proficiency in project management software and other relevant tools.
