Director of Content Marketing

The Director of Content Marketing will elevate and drive our brand narrative across all channels. Reporting to the VP of Content, you will lead a small team of communications professionals and partner with cross-functional leaders to craft and amplify RKD Group’s story—both visually and through compelling written and multimedia content.
As Director of Content Marketing, you will own the strategic vision and execution of our brand’s storytelling efforts. You’ll translate RKD Group’s mission, values and impact into cohesive narratives—across video, social, web, PR and internal channels—that resonate with clients, prospects, partners and our own team. You’ll set the editorial agenda, contribute to brand voice and ensure every touchpoint reflects a commitment to innovation, excellence and impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Leadership & Brand Vision
- Define and steward RKD Group’s overarching communications strategy and annual editorial roadmap.
- Work with leadership to create clear brand guidelines for tone, style and visual storytelling—ensuring consistency across all media.
- Lead quarterly content audits and refine messaging pillars based on market trends and organizational priorities.
- Team Development & Collaboration
- Mentor, manage and grow a small team of marketing content specialists.
- Partner closely with Client Partners, Strategists, Creative, and Sales to surface stories, trends and insights.
- Content Creation & Multimedia Storytelling
- Oversee the production of high-impact video storytelling—from concept to final edit—spotlighting client successes, thought leadership and agency culture.
- Drive written content strategy: blogs, white papers, case studies, press releases, email newsletters and social posts.
- Innovate with emerging formats (podcasts, webinars, interactive experiences) to broaden RKD Group’s reach.
- Brand Amplification & Thought Leadership
- Cultivate relationships with industry media, secure speaking engagements and contribute bylined articles to elevate our profile.
- Design integrated campaigns that weave together paid, earned, owned and shared media to maximize impact.
- Use marketing KPIs—including reach, engagement, and lead generation—to optimize future efforts.
- Internal Communications & Culture Building
- Architect an internal communications plan that keeps staff informed, engaged and aligned with RKD Group’s vision.
- Champion a culture of storytelling throughout the agency—training colleagues on best practices for brand voice and messaging.
What We’re Looking For
- Visionary Communicator: Proven ability to distill complex ideas into clear, inspiring narratives—with strength in both video and the written word.
- Leadership & Influence: At least 5 years of progressively senior communications or content marketing experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- Brand Storytelling Expertise: Deep experience crafting multichannel campaigns and producing high-quality video content.
- Strategic Thinker: Comfortable setting long-term vision, balancing creative innovation with measurable business outcomes.
- Collaborative Partner: Exceptional interpersonal skills; adept at building trust with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Data-Driven: Skilled in defining, tracking and interpreting communications metrics to inform decisions.
- Process-Oriented & Organized: Strong project management skills, able to oversee multiple teams and initiatives simultaneously.
- Adaptable & Curious: Enthusiastic about emerging communications trends, platforms, and technologies in the nonprofit sector.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrated track record in developing and executing integrated communications strategies.
- Expertise with video production workflows, content management systems, social media platforms and analytics tools.
- Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with a portfolio that includes both written and multimedia samples.
- Experience in the nonprofit or fundraising sector strongly preferred.
LOCATION: Remote.
Pay range expected for the position: $80,000 to $100,000 annually.
