Senior Systems Administrator

Position Summary:
The Senior Systems Administrator at Riverfront Technology Consulting is the highest-ranking external technical resource responsible for delivering advanced technical expertise to clients. This is a full-time, salaried position with 80% of time dedicated to billable activities. The role is primarily focused on project-based work, including system design, implementation, migrations, and infrastructure optimization. The Senior Systems Administrator may also provide support for escalations from the Account Success Engineer (ASE) team as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead project-based technical work including system deployments, migrations, integrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in enterprise systems, networking, cloud platforms, and security best practices.
• Act as the highest-level external escalation point for complex technical issues escalated by the ASE team.
• Collaborate with ASEs, Service Desk, and project delivery teams to ensure seamless technical execution and client satisfaction.
• Contribute to solution design and architecture for new client initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in client environments and propose strategic technical enhancements.
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to internal knowledge bases.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and certifications relevant to enterprise IT.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or equivalent role in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or enterprise IT environment.
• Certifications (preferred):
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent advanced security certification
• Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, and cloud infrastructure
• Strong networking expertise (firewalls, routing, switching, VPNs)
• Deep understanding of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Proven ability to design and implement enterprise-grade IT solutions
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex technical environments
• Strong communication and client-facing skills, with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Working Conditions:

• Full-time salaried position
• Remote role with occasional travel for client projects or team collaboration as needed
• 80% of time spent on billable activities (primarily project work)
• May receive escalations from Account Success Engineer team

Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
