- Location: USA, remote (New York City-area preferred, though not required, to facilitate frequent in-person collaboration with the leadership team).

Position Summary:
This is a once-in-a-career opportunity to define and lead the brand marketing function at a company with breakout momentum and a bold mission.
As the Sr. Director of Brand Marketing, you will shape how the world experiences the Rip Van brand — across every touchpoint. From strategy and campaign messaging to brand and retail activation, you’ll be the driving force behind our next phase of growth.
This role will own the core Brand Marketing vertical. Excluding dedicated ownership of Online Sales/Growth and Innovation, which are managed as separate functions within the organization.
You’ll work closely with the CEO and executive team, while building and mentoring a lean, high-performance marketing team. What you will do:
- Develop and implement the overall marketing strategy and annual brand plan, ensuring alignment with the company’s brand positioning and business objectives.
- Lead creation and execution of brand, communications (visual & messaging) and activation plans.
- Own brand positioning, ensuring consistency in tone, voice, content and overall messaging across all consumer and brand touch points. (packaging, sales materials, creative campaigns, website)
- Oversee the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across various channels including paid media, social, retail, influencer, and experiential
- Guide the development and executing of in-store and customer specific shopper marketing programs aligned with trade and promotional plans and in collaboration with the sales team.
- Create content and materials for customer sell-in (sales decks, calendars, case studies)
- Oversee field marketing, sampling strategy, and retail-level execution
- Lead company's knowledge and insights efforts. Conduct market research and analysis to identify consumer insights, cultural trends, and competitive opportunities to inform future marketing strategies and plans. Develop a deep understanding for the Rip Van consumer to build the emotional connection, build a community and elevate Rip Van into a lifestyle brand.
- Build, manage and mentor a high performing, highly engaged team (social, brand coordinator, field)
- Define and track key brand metrics (awareness, equity, in-market performance)
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure brand consistency and alignment across teams
- Represent Rip Van at conferences, trade shows, events, and key customer meetings, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and industry influencers.
- Manage marketing budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure efficient and cost effective execution of marketing spend.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technology, industry, category and consumer trends, and marketing best-practices to inform strategic priorities and gain a competitive edge in the better-for-you snack market.
- Identify and manage agency partners as needed.
What you bring:
- Proven success in building or scaling consumer brands, ideally in FMCG. Deep understanding of how a brand shows up across packaging, retail, and communications.
- Proven experience (5-7+ years) in marketing roles, preferably in the food beverage or consumer packaged goods industry. Experience in both large company and entrepreneurial environment a plus
- Strong track record in developing and executing successful marketing strategies that have driven brand growth and market share.
- Scrappy, entrepreneurial, thrives in high-growth environments. Leads by doing, builds systems from the ground up, and executes with excellence.
- Strong in messaging, storytelling, and creative direction. Partners cross-functionally with Sales, Creative, Product, and Supply Chain seamlessly.
- Makes decisions based on consumer insight, field feedback, and performance data. Balances creativity with operational discipline and marketing ROI.
- Proven ability to build, mentor, and inspire high-performing teams — especially in lean environments.
- Experience with syndicated data Spins, Nielsen or IRI: strong capability working with sources to create fact based selling stories, consumption reports and measure effectiveness of promotional programs.
- Self starter attitude with the ability to work independently while also being highly collaborative.
- Creative thinker with a strong eye for detail and a passion for delivering innovative marketing campaigns.
