We are looking for a Principal UX Designer to join our team and shape the user experience of our cutting-edge products. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and testing user interfaces across web, software, and hardware solutions. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, engaging, and high-performing user experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test user interfaces for firm products, ensuring seamless and engaging user experiences.
- Provide UX expertise in usability, evaluation, and testing, optimizing process flow and responsive design elements.
- Develop prototypes, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs based on UX specifications and design standards.
- Conduct technical reviews to assess feasibility, integration with existing architectures, and adherence to UX best practices.
- Research and analyze design trends, customer needs, and market insights to inform design decisions.
Your First 90 Days
Within 30 days:
- Get to know your team and key stakeholders.
- Gain an understanding of the problem space and user needs.
- Start designing features that will go directly into a shipping product.
- Develop prototypes, wireframes, and other design artifacts.
- Collaborate on design system work.
Within 60 days:
- Contribute to concept development and ideation for new product features.
- Incorporate team feedback to refine designs quickly.
- Create intuitive, engaging experiences that enable users to complete tasks efficiently.
- Validate design hypotheses with UX research.
- Help maintain internal design guidelines for consistency across products.
Within 90 days:
- Partner with Product Management to define the product vision.
- Work closely with technical and product leads to align design expectations with business goals.
- Start integrating customer-driven research into the design process.
- Mentor and support other designers.
- Collaborate with the global design team to share best practices and contribute to design system documentation.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in UX/UI design.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in UX Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Psychology, or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in Figma, UX principles, and design processes.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse UX toolkit and impactful designs.
- Experience incorporating user research findings into the design process.
- Leadership skills with a strong sense of ownership and collaboration.
- Familiarity with Agile UX, Lean UX, and MVP design approaches.
- Understanding of modern web technologies (React, JavaScript, CSS is a plus).
- Experience in science, life sciences, or laboratory environments is a plus but not required.
