Technical Program Manager
Location: Bay Area or Remote with periodic travel to company offices and
operational sites
About the Opportunity
We are a rapidly growing organization operating in the clean energy and
infrastructure sector, focused on developing and managing large-scale renewable
energy and energy storage assets. Our Technology team is seeking an experienced
Technical Program Manager to help coordinate strategic initiatives across a diverse
technology landscape and enable engineering teams to focus on high-value
technical work.
Position Overview
The Technical Program Manager will oversee planning, prioritization, and execution
across a portfolio of technology initiatives spanning infrastructure, networking,
operational technology, cybersecurity, cloud services, data platforms, and software
delivery. This role serves as the central coordination point for cross-functional
programs, managing dependencies, vendor engagement, risk visibility, and
executive reporting.
Success in this role will be measured by the ability to improve execution efficiency,
streamline delivery processes, and increase the capacity of technical teams to
focus on architecture and engineering.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage intake and prioritization of technology initiatives, partnering with
technical leaders to assess scope, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
• Coordinate programs across multiple technology disciplines, ensuring
alignment and execution across interconnected workstreams.
• Oversee relationships with external vendors and service providers, including
statement-of-work management, milestone tracking, escalations, and
contract coordination.
• Identify and communicate program risks, dependencies, and key decisions,
providing actionable recommendations to leadership.
• Establish and maintain reporting rhythms, including leadership updates,
quarterly planning materials, and executive presentations.
• Administer and improve project management processes using tools such as
Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
• Partner with business stakeholders to align technology delivery with
organizational priorities and budget cycles.• Lead communication and change management activities for technology
initiatives impacting multiple departments.
• Support technology leadership with budget planning, vendor lifecycle
management, and strategic planning materials.
• Continuously identify opportunities to shift coordination activities away from
technical contributors and into structured program management processes.
Qualifications
• 3–5 years of experience in technical program management within technology,
infrastructure, software, energy, or similarly complex environments.
• Demonstrated success coordinating initiatives across multiple technical
domains without direct ownership of individual engineering functions.
• Experience managing third-party vendors and multi-vendor engagements,
including contract execution and performance management.
• Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand infrastructure
architectures, networking concepts, cloud technologies, operational systems,
and software delivery practices.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience
preparing materials for senior leadership and executive audiences.
• Hands-on experience with project and work management platforms such as
Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Asana, Monday.com, or equivalent tools.
• Ability to create structure and drive execution in fast-paced and evolving
environments.
• Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field, or equivalent practical
experience.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or SAFe are desirable.
• Experience in energy, utilities, industrial operations, or other critical
infrastructure sectors is preferred.
• Willingness to travel periodically as business needs require.

• Annual salary range: $155,000–$195,000.
