Role Summary
Renew Home is seeking a talented and self-driven Senior Data Scientist to join the growing Product Analytics team.
At Renew Home, we prioritize data-driven decision making, and you will play a crucial role in making this a reality. Collaborating closely with stakeholders across the organization - Engineering, Product, Operations, Partnerships - you will deliver analytic solutions and timely insights by asking the right questions of our data. This role requires someone who takes initiative, drives projects end-to-end, and holds themselves accountable to outcomes.
What You Will Do
Requirements
5+ years of experience in analytics, analytics engineering, or data science
Fluency in SQL and deep experience with columnar data warehouses (e.g. Redshift, BigQuery), including dimensional modeling, query optimization, and warehouse design principles
Proficiency in Python for data analysis (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, Jupyter)
Solid foundation in statistics including causal inference, experimentation, and simulation
Ability to work through ambiguity, excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
Strong product intuition and ability to connect data insights to the user experience and business outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong preference for experience in the energy space (energy markets, smart devices, or home energy systems), or a demonstrated interest in the domain with evidence of self-driven learning or research
Experience may include (one or more of the following):
Energy industry knowledge or experience with energy markets
Experience with smart energy devices such as thermostats, EVs, solar, batteries, and water heaters
Understanding of building/home energy systems and physics
Experience with DBT and workflow orchestration platforms like Prefect/Airflow
Experience with the AWS cloud computing ecosystem including: Redshift, s3, ZeroETL, ecs, Lambda
Experience with AI/ML tools/frameworks (e.g. Scikit-learn, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Prophet)
