About the Opportunity:
The organization operates a large global shared micromobility business across numerous countries and continents, focusing on shared, affordable, and carbon-free transportation. The electric bikes and scooters have completed over one billion rides worldwide. A new business unit is launching to reimagine employee transportation, offering safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions for business travel, campus mobility, and subsidized commuting. This role presents an opportunity to shape a new product area serving new users, workflows, and business models, building scalable experiences that extend the existing platform while supporting companies in reducing friction, delighting employees, and achieving sustainability goals.
Responsibilities:
• Design intuitive, end-to-end mobile experiences for business users supporting complex rules and workflows, translating employer policies, eligibility, and usage constraints into clear, rider-friendly interactions
• Define and evolve the multi-platform vision for the business unit, focusing on employee and rider-facing experiences in the Rider mobile app across commute, business travel, and campus mobility use cases
• Lead full-cycle user-centered design from discovery through wireframes, high-fidelity designs, prototyping, and final specifications grounded in user research, business objectives, and technical constraints
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success Managers to deliver and iterate cohesive, high-quality mobile experiences integrating with the existing Rider app architecture, design systems, and performance requirements
• Collaborate with Operations and Hardware partners to ensure designs align with real-world rider behaviors, fleet availability, and operational realities
• Contribute to and extend mobile design systems and UX frameworks, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and quality across employee-facing surfaces
• Influence product strategy through design storytelling, articulating user problems, design rationale, trade-offs, and success metrics to cross-functional teams and leadership
• Strengthen design culture by mentoring peers, advocating rider-centric decision-making, and raising mobile UX standards as the business scales
Requirements:
• 7 or more years of experience in designing and shipping consumer-facing products across multiple platforms and form factors
• Expertise in mobile app design and development; preferred experience in transportation and collaboration with hardware partners
• Strong proficiency designing for web and multi-platform ecosystems
• Ability to own and drive strategy and execution of complete end-to-end product solutions
• User research centered design process with attention to user experience context
• Detail-oriented with high aesthetic execution standards
• Experience working in dynamic environments
• Highly proficient with Figma and rapid iteration of evolving ideas
• Experience in both foundational and evaluative research
Preferred Qualifications:
• Entrepreneurial mindset comfortable with fast-paced, autonomous environments
• Experience designing 0 to 1 products or founding design efforts in new product areas or business lines
• Background in transportation, operations, logistics, marketplace ecosystems, or hardware/IoT integration
• Experience shaping or leading design systems
• Experience designing internal tools for operators, customer success, or field teams, including workflow optimization and service design
• Comfortable leading or partnering closely with UX Research through formative and evaluative cycles
• Ability to drive product strategy beyond execution—defining problem spaces, end-to-end solutions, and influencing stakeholders
• Demonstrated senior individual contributor capable of growing into leadership as the team expands
• Passion for sustainability
