2. About the Opportunity:
The Staff Software Engineer - Federal role supports the organization''s Public Sector roadmap by developing and managing security solutions for core infrastructure applications. This position is crucial for safeguarding workforce, endpoints, and corporate data through scalable, resilient, and secure platforms. The role involves close collaboration with Security, Business Technology Engineering, and Product teams to implement automation and cloud-native security technologies.
3. Responsibilities:
• Act as a security subject matter expert for solution engineering and architecture reviews.
• Lead technical efforts to design and implement enterprise security systems and enhancements.
• Build and maintain automation and cloud infrastructure using Terraform or similar tools.
• Develop integrations with APIs, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and security infrastructure.
• Write and maintain Python-based scripts and automations to streamline security operations.
• Establish monitoring and alerting for security posture and threats across endpoints, SaaS, and cloud workloads.
• Proactively identify and remediate security gaps while staying informed on emerging threats and solutions.
4. Requirements:
• 8+ years of coding and scripting experience focused on automation and tooling for infrastructure and data pipelines; Python required.
• Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines for onboarding security data.
• Ability to build scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines for security event processing.
• Proven experience automating security controls using a cloud-first approach.
• Proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for security automation.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration across technical and leadership teams.
• Experience developing engineering solutions in regulated environments (FedRAMP High, IL4, IL5, IL6) is a plus.
• Current or previous Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance is a plus.
• Ability to access federal environments and provide documentation of U.S. Person status upon hire.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• The annual base salary range for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington is between $161,000 and $221,000 USD.
• Equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits including health, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) are offered according to applicable plans.
