About the Opportunity:
The organization delivers cloud, software platforms, systems, and services for communications service providers. This opportunity is for a Staff Software Engineer focused on developing high-performance software solutions with expertise in Java/J2EE, Linux, microservices, REST APIs, and high availability systems.
Responsibilities:
• Design, code, and debug complex software systems to enhance performance and functionality.
• Investigate and resolve software-related issues to optimize performance and user experience.
• Participate in team discussions to suggest solutions and shape shared services.
• Collaborate with customer success and field teams to troubleshoot and resolve field issues in real time.
• Work with a globally distributed team to implement new features, resolve issues, and improve product quality.
• Advocate for new technologies that increase productivity and efficiency.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
• 10+ years of experience developing distributed, multi-tier enterprise applications, especially for element and network management platforms in Access Networks or telecommunications.
• 8+ years of experience designing and developing Linux and JAVA/J2EE applications using Microservices/SOA architecture, Spring/Spring Boot, OOP principles, Collections, Multithreading, interprocess communication, exception handling, memory management, packages, and JVM.
• Experience designing and implementing FCAPS solutions that are geographically diverse, highly scalable, and support high concurrency and multithreading.
• 8+ years of experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML, Postgres, and SNMP.
• Extensive experience building authentication and authorization systems using OAuth and LDAP/Radius.
• Experience establishing High Availability, Clustering, Redundancy, and Stateful Failover.
• Proven performance benchmarking and database optimization skills.
• Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar containerization frameworks.
• Familiarity with Linux tools for version control, code review, bug tracking, and CI/CD, including Git, Gerrit, Jira, and Jenkins.
• Understanding of Networking and Broadband technologies is a plus.
Compensation:
• The base pay range for this position varies based on geographic location.
• San Francisco Bay Area: 156,400 to 265,700 USD Annual
• All Other US Locations: 136,000 to 231,000 USD Annual
• This role may be eligible for a bonus as part of the total compensation package.
