About the Opportunity:
The organization is a public health and wellness platform focused on making healthcare affordable, accessible, and personalized. This Senior Staff Engineer role on the Growth team will drive technical strategy and lead the execution of growth initiatives across the customer platform, with an emphasis on frontend development.
Responsibilities:
• Drive front-end development, ensuring fast, accessible, and visually polished user experiences.
• Champion UI performance, accessibility, and responsiveness, setting and achieving measurable standards.
• Lead cross-team initiatives from inception through execution, including risk management and stakeholder coordination.
• Serve as technical leader for key systems or domains, owning system outcomes and long-term evolution.
• Balance short-term delivery with long-term system health and scalability.
• Align technical direction with product strategy and roadmap priorities.
• Lead architectural design for systems spanning multiple teams, supporting scalability and business goals.
• Uphold code quality and engineering standards to ensure robust, testable, observable, maintainable, secure, and scalable solutions.
• Develop and promote shared architectural patterns, tools, and infrastructure to improve engineering efficiency.
• Participate in product discovery to assess feasibility, define features, and validate ideas through prototypes.
• Identify systemic risks and design scalable, resilient solutions.
• Mentor staff and senior engineers, fostering innovation and collaboration.
• Participate in technical advisory discussions to guide strategy and provide feedback.
• Promote operational excellence through continuous improvement.
• Analyze performance metrics and user feedback to inform product enhancements.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to improve engineering processes.
Requirements:
• 15+ years as a software engineer delivering production code.
• Proven experience leading complex projects and successful cross-team initiatives.
• Deep expertise in designing scalable, resilient, and maintainable systems.
• Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Next, GraphQL) and backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python).
• Experience with operational excellence, including observability, incident response, and reliability engineering.
• Strong problem-solving skills and critical, strategic thinking.
• Ability to align engineering with product and business goals.
• Comfortable working in ambiguous and evolving environments.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills to influence across stakeholders.
• Track record of impacting without authority across teams.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects independently.
• Experience introducing and coaching new architecture and design concepts aligned with organizational strategies.
