Sr. Software Engineer, Partner Sharing (backend)

About the Opportunity:

The organization develops a platform focused on enabling businesses to scale through automation and AI. This opportunity is for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Partner Sharing team, which creates API-based automation and integration solutions embedded within partner products. The role centers on designing and scaling backend systems that empower partners to deliver native automation experiences to their users.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build partner-facing APIs for automation and integration within partner platforms.

• Expand and improve the existing platform to ensure reliability, scalability, and a strong developer experience.

• Enhance tools and documentation for partner developers to streamline onboarding and implementation.

• Balance the needs of internal teams and external developers for system ergonomics and scalability.

• Collaborate with teams across Platform, Infrastructure, and Product Engineering to ensure integration and interoperability.

• Lead technical initiatives, mentor teammates, and contribute to architectural decisions for long-term product direction.

Requirements:

• Experience in building and maintaining APIs, gateways, and integration points for production environments.

• Proficiency in Python, with strong experience using Django and ideally Django REST Framework.

• Knowledge of authentication methods including OAuth, API keys, and JWTs.

• Experience designing systems for performance, resilience, and maintainability.

• Strong focus on developer usability and feedback.

• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, distributed, and asynchronous team environments.

• Clear written communication and ability to work autonomously.

• Comfortable with evolving tools and practices in a scaling environment.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with OpenAPI specifications or SDK generation pipelines.

• Familiarity with AI-powered development tools or interest in AI for automation and workflows.

• Prior work with external partners or developer platforms for API or automation integration.
