Sr Software Engineer

About the Opportunity:

The organization connects people, data, and applications quickly and securely to support business growth. This role is for a Sr. Software Engineer with Java and Spring Boot experience who will work in an agile team to design, develop, test, and enhance software with moderate complexity.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, debug, and support new or enhanced software in an Agile Scrum environment

• Collaborate with business partners and technical staff to deliver technical solutions

• Define and implement automated tests with product developers

• Document work for transparency and reuse

• Build enterprise-grade systems meeting SLAs for scalability, reliability, and performance

• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration

• Ensure code quality by adhering to coding standards and best practices

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers

• Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and efficient software solutions

• Work with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver solutions

• Perform software testing and quality assurance

• Contribute to strategic planning and technology decision-making

• Manage multiple concurrent projects

• Take accountability for completing assignments successfully

• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and programming standards

• Identify and solve complex problems, make data-driven decisions, and mitigate risks

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Computer Science or similar preferred); 4+ years with a master’s degree

• Knowledge of software development methodologies, standards, and coding best practices

• Experience with Agile practices including sprint planning, grooming, standups, and retrospectives

• 5+ years development experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes

• Experience with Oracle RDBMS, NoSQL, PL/SQL, Kafka

• Familiarity with modern technologies like cloud platforms, AI/ML, DevOps within relevant domains

• Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting

• Experience developing scalable high-performance systems for high data volume processing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with REST API Services

• Experience in the telecommunications industry

Compensation:

• $82,969 - $110,625 base salary range in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, WY

• $87,117 - $116,156 base salary range in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, RI

• $91,266 - $121,688 base salary range in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, WA
